THE SCORE MUST MATCH THE PRODUCT’S PURPOSE
DroneScape can score categories such as camera quality, flight performance, battery/endurance, usability, features, build quality, and value. Weighting can vary by product category. Camera quality should matter more on a photography drone than on an indoor training whoop; repairability and latency matter more on a freestyle or racing platform than on a travel camera drone.

SPEC SHEETS NEED
CONTEXT
Drone marketing is full of numbers that can be technically correct and still misleading to a buyer. These are some of the claims DroneScape tries to qualify rather than repeat blindly.
Manufacturer endurance ratings are typically measured under controlled conditions. Wind, temperature, maneuvering, recording, battery age and reserve margin affect actual usable time.
Range claims describe technical capability under specified conditions. They are not permission to fly beyond visual line of sight or other applicable operating limits.
Resolution alone says little about sensor quality, bitrate, stabilization, dynamic range, rolling shutter, live-view resolution or usable image detail.
A “90-minute” bundle may simply include three batteries rated for about 30 minutes each. DroneScape tries to distinguish per-battery endurance from package totals.
High-resolution modes can involve pixel binning, reconstruction or different sensor readouts. The number is not treated as a direct measure of image quality.
Cropping pixels is not presented as equivalent to a real second optical focal length.
Sensors reduce risk but do not make an aircraft crash-proof. Thin branches, wires, low light, reflective surfaces and high speed can still defeat detection.
Weight can simplify some recreational registration requirements in the U.S., but it does not eliminate FAA operating rules or Part 107 requirements for commercial use.
